What's For Dinner: Big Mac Sloppy Joes and French fries!

Image
It may be slightly obvious that I like to try copy cat recipes. There are a million different ones on Pinterest to browse. That's where I found the recipe for this one. I will leave the link at the end of this post for the original recipe. I did a few things differently. You first start by making the big mac sauce, simple ingredients that most will probably already have. You mix: Mayonnaise French dressing sweet relish ketchup white vinegar onion powder  salt Mix all the ingredients until its thoroughly combined and refrigerate until you are ready to use it.   The next step is to brown a pound and a half of ground beef, half an onion and about a 1/4 cup of chopped dill pickles in a skillet until the beef is completely cooked, drain any excess grease, kosher salt, ground black pepper and Worcestershire sauce to the pan. Once everything is combined add a cup of the big mac sauce to the pan and cook until warmed through.  Her recipe said to butter the buns and toast them but I chose n

What's For Breakfast: Sausage cream cheese bake!

Image
So I have seen this recipe on pinterest for years. But recently I have seen it on a couple different youtube channels, so I thought it must be good and wanted to give it a try! So here goes. First you start by preheating your oven to 375.        Then you brown a pound of ground sausage. It said to drain if need be but I didn't think I needed to. After it was all browned, I added an 8 oz block of cream cheese and stirred it until it was all combined. Once the cream cheese and sausage are combined, you flatten out a tube of crescent rolls into a 9x13 inch pan. Making sure to seal the seams. I think this would also be good with the crescent roll dough sheets if you can find them. Once its all flattened out you spread the sausage cream cheese mixture on to the crescents in an even layer. Then you top it with a second tube of crescent rolls, also sealing the seams as best you can. The recipe I found said to bake for 10 minutes, but after 10 minutes it was still doughy so I spread some b

What's For Dinner: Lemon Pepper Pork Chops and Garlic Parsley potatoes!

Image
Last night I made lemon pepper pork chops, roasted garlic parsley potatoes and a salad. It was really good. Sean's been asking for something lemon pepper and when I saw this Lemon Pepper seasoning on the Aldis website I knew we had to try it. It has a very good flavor. Would be great on fish and chicken too! Here's some pictures I took as I was cooking dinner last night. Hope you all enjoy! First I started by brushing a small amount of olive oil on both sides of the pork chops, then I sprinkled them with salt, pepper and the lemon pepper seasoning on both sides. Probably could have done with out the olive oil but I was afraid they were going to stick to the pan. I made extra pork chops because I want to put the meat on salads for lunch today! For the potatoes, I had some pretty big red potatoes so I diced them up, sprinkled them with salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, parsley and paprika and some olive oil. They came out nice and crispy! Then I placed the two pans in t

Snack Crate! Spain!

Image
So Sean and I subscribed to a subscription box called snack crate. Our first box arrived yesterday and the country was Spain! Very fitting as my brother in law is from there! It was fun trying snacks from a different country. We liked all of them. The one snack was a little weird. Fried egg taste chip. It was good at first but had a weird egg after taste. But everything else was amazing! Any who, onto the pictures! A few years ago we went to visit my sister at Christmas time and my brother in law had a Jamon sitting on their counter and had everyone try it. I was too nervous to but all the guys did and liked it. If it tastes anything like these chips, I will try it next time! Well, that's all for now. I'll post the next snack crate we get next month!
